- Ordering notes I’d love to know about a 3 foot bull whip. I’d love to do 16 or 20 plait, an 8 “ handle. I’m curious to know if there’s a plaiting pattern or style you would like to try, or experiment with. Essentially I would love to see a whip that is a celebration of 2 years of leather plaiting and your journey that I’m so happy to be a part of. As for plait count, I don’t mind write, as long as weird is usable. You do make art, and while they do sit in a wall in a “gallery” of toys, the goal with this is to give it a LOT of use. So 16 is perfect too. You can go ham on the handle as well if you want to do fullers or extra fancy plaiting I’d love that. I get the sense, and please do correct me if I'm wrong, or asking too much, but you really enjoy challenging yourself. I think what I’m asking is this: Can you set yourself a challenge or goal, (and charge appropriately for that) and make something fantastic? Both fantastic to use, but more importantly, fantastically and and truly Alyssum. If you think that’s doing something weird. I’m heavily interested, if you think that’s a 16 plait whip, then that’s perfect too. You’ve spoken about just really geeking out with your fellow creators and whip makers. I’m interested in a whip from you that you would nerd out about to your whip peers, that I’m going to nerd out about to my whip peers. Everyone whose touched your bullwhip, and now your snake whip, have looked at it with real joy and reverence. No one believes me when I tell them how long you’ve been plaiting. I think I almost killed Robert on Saturday when he heard he was so surprised. Details from Alyssum in a photo reply “The whip from base to fall goes: single diamond, stair step, wedding band, stair step, single diamond, short herringbone, double diamond, 4 strand diamond, double herringbone, herringbone, Birds Eye in the 12 plait section, and herringbone to the 8 point fall hitch.”
